The invitation to the February 2012 schedule of Immersion Trip + MSW and the PSITE National Convention, is now officially out! Please register yourself or your faculty members to any of the lined-up activities!
The immersion trip + MSW is a seminar-workshop to be held in semicon plants in Region IV-A on 3-Feb-2012, and the participants will be toured in the plants to showcase the information and communications technologies (ICT) used in the manufacturing industry. This is a first for PSITE NCR chapter! We will also be joined by a few members from the PSITE Region IV-A chapter, another first in our quest for a healthy, stronger inter-regional PSITE chapter linkage and collaboration.
The Immersion Trip + MSW has limited seats (maximum of 50 pax), so please register as soon as you can! Yup, transportation is being arranged with our host-semincon plants, so the final pick-up point will be announced in a few weeks.
To cap off the month, we also encourage you to join the PSITE National Convention to be held in General Santos City on Feb. 23-25, 2012. The details of the convention , including the CHED endorsement letter, invitation letter, and others, can be found in the following websites:

[NEWS] Philippine National Robotics Competition |

The PSITE NCR President John Ruero was invited to grace and observe the 2012 National Robotics Competition and Exhibition held last 20-January-2012 at The Arena, San Juan City. Elementary and secondary students from different schools in the Philippines competed their robots across different categories, incluidng the line tracing, prison break, and the much-awaited Sumo Robots event. The grand winners will represent the Philippines in the International Robotics Competition to be held in South Korea by second half of the year! PSITE NCR is in exploratory talks with the Pinoy Robot Games Founder and Director Melvin Matulac for possible linkage, including trainings and seminars with the PSITE NCR members, joint research project in the field of Robotics and Embedded Systems, and a "Teacher's Edition" competition among the PSITE NCR educators using their robot designs, following the tradition of the Pinoy Robots Foundation annual robotic competition. Details will be published about the status of the linkage talks in the PSITE NCR website! |

PSITE NCR is excited to announce the final venue details of the back-to-back DevCon and Digital Piracy-Privacy seminars to be held on 28-Jan-2012 starting at 8AM. Please see the details below. The seminar fee of PhP 250.00 per person will cover the registration and lunch.

[ESS] Testing for Success: Structured Cabling Part 2 |

|
The second part of the Structured Cabling System Design and Network Testing ESS held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) last 19-Jan-2012 was a success! More than 30 participants joined a highly informative, hands-on training provided by Mr. Jonard Nollido who shared both technical and practical design topics culminating in the testing of the cable connectivity design, and others. LPU Dean Sam Chua delivered the welcome remarks, followed by an announcement by PSITE NCR president John Ruero about the upcoming seminars and immesrion trip.

You could have seen how the teachers enjoyed using the impact tool, cable testers, and other tools; how they learned to use the product catalog to help in their network design; and how they managed to succeed in the process! Congratulations to our successful participants!
